Hey, bunny

Hey, bunny

Here's something about bunnies — they don't always respond to your calls. They do always, however, take little hops and jumps to come towards you when you have snacks in your hand.

Those little jumps they take, where they twist their bodies in the air while jumping, are called binkies. The bigger the snack, the bigger the binky — so have many years of research shown (there is no real reference to this, just pure trial and error).

Hazelnut, shown below, is our bunny. She loves to hop, eat, and nap — and responds very well, with a binky, to snacks.

Hazelnut, the TOKKIA bunny

She especially loves her greens — think kales, lettuce, parsley, coriander — and fruits, also: cherries, grapes, and mango are some of her favourites.

The greens, fruits and many other snacks that brought her joy, and the subsequent joy that her little binkies and hops brought us, became the heart of TOKKIA — the name*, menu choices, our ethos of bringing joy in every customer and team interaction, and design.

After all, we really love matcha and she loves her greens. And if Hazelnut's binkies taught us anything, it's that joy is always worth chasing — one snack, one sip, one little hop at a time.

*TOKKIA is an endearing way to call a bunny towards you in Korean.
